Once upon a time, in a faraway land, I practiced law. I started as a public defender and then swung to the opposite end of the spectrum and worked as a corporate attorney. In 2019, after the loss of my mother, I founded a nonprofit organization to support teachers impacted by cancer.
In all my work, I have witnessed countless examples of goodness stemming from loss and beauty for ashes trades. This kind of restoration is a major undercurrent in my life and writing. Also little things with big meanings. I dig those.
The unicorn of a quiet house, a slow jog on my favorite trail, and honest conversations unsuitable for cocktail parties bring me great delight. And there may be nothing better in the world than a Magic Eraser to scuff marks on the wall, but a really good book comes close.
I live in Denver with my husband and three sons. The toilet seats are never down.
