My heart is heavy.

My love pours out for the families of the children and adults who lost their lives at Sandy Hook Elementary School one year ago today.

My love pours out for the families of the children and adults impacted by the shooting at Arapahoe High School yesterday.

My love pours out for my children as I huddle them close to me right now.

Another shooting. Another headline. Another attempt to make sense of the senseless. Another debt of gratitude to the selfless helpers and responders to the most selfish of all acts. We move forward because we must. But we move forward with an obligation.

I believe in better tomorrows. And I believe I can play a part in the bettering of those tomorrows.
