Our boys are home! We were so thrilled to bring our little Cros home yesterday. And FINALLY all of our boys are together under one roof. We are so thankful to our amazing NICU team at Swedish Hospital. Especially our nurses Debbie, Heidi, Laurie, Jamie and Ruth and Doctor Ross. Although it broke my heart every single time I walked out of those doors, I knew our little boys were truly in the arms of angels.
The most difficult part to wrap my head around was having one at home and one in the hospital. It was just two completely different universes of stress and anxiety and hard to compromise one with the other. I was up all night with Cooper and spent every moment of downtime during the day with Crosby at the hospital. I have such respect and admiration for NICU mamas. And I hope in the long run I snagged a little more strength and courage from this experience and I will draw upon it in the days, months and years to come.
Despite the chaos that ensues, I feel so blessed to have my three boys together and to be on this side of the journey. Bring on the sleepless nights. We are ready.
And now the fun begins…
